The River

The St. Louis River, one of the largest tributaries to Lake Superior, is located on the border between Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin. It stretches approximately 18 miles from the Thompson Dam to the Superior, Wisconsin entrance of Lake Superior. The river passes through the scenic rock cliffs of historic Jay Cooke State Park to the Duluth harbor, the largest shipping port on Lake Superior.
